Although I’ve watched a few adaptations of Verne’s books (Journey to the Centre of the Earth (2008), Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) ) however I can’t say that I’ve ever read one of his books. So, when I saw this Audible Original adaptation I snapped it up. I thought the production was executed really well, the sound effects in particular helping me to feel immersed in the story and worked well alongside the acting. The actors’ performances were amazing; pulling me immediately into the story with their character voices. Their interactions were seamless, believable and kept me hooked the entire time. Although some parts of the story were hard to follow and didn’t make sense, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it and liked it so much I bought the Wordsworth Classics addition of the novel so I can read it myself at a later date.
If you’ve read any of Verne’s novels – even this one, what do you like about them and which is your favourite – or do you love all of them?
You have wings. Believe in them, and you will fly.
