Title: The Chimera Code
Author: Wayne Santos
Publisher: Rebellion (Solaris)
CAWPILE: 8.43
What I really liked about this, was the fact that we’re thrown right into the action. I also liked that the novel didn’t just have the typical male/female characters, like cyborgs and such. There was a lot of tech and electronics, VI, gaming jargon though, that I didn’t get at all, and felt like it was written more for those who know about that sort of stuff – but I did like the premise of the story and the way the VI/VR worked within the novel. Something else that threw me off a little, was the way that the timeline seems to jump at times, with a gap in between events and no recall on what has happened between the chapters. I enjoyed learning about Zee’s background story, though I would have liked to learn about Marcus and Cloke’s background too – aside from their families and such. I feel like it would also have been useful to have a pronunciation guide for some things, particularly Zee’s pronouns as I wasn’t sure how to pronounce them properly. Overall however I did enjoy the .novel a lot, as it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and would definitely read more from Santos in the future.
If you’ve read this, what were your own thoughts on it?
You have wings. Believe in them and yourself, and you will fly.
Until the next time!
