Title: The Gravity of Us
Author: Phil Stamper
Rating: 5 stars
Publishing date: 14 May
I honestly don’t know how to put my love for this book into words. I haven’t read a lot of LGBTQ+ novels (I think I read my first in 2018), but I’ve loved them, and The Gravity of Us is no different. I loved Cal; his personality, his dedication to the work he does on his ‘FlashFame’ app, as well as his followers. His emotions about being uprooted from his life in Brooklyn felt so real to me; the way that Stamper has written the character really helping me connect with him. I also enjoyed the way that his relationship with Leon progressed throughout the story, as well as the way that the relationship between him and his parents changes.
I also love that the story was inspired by real life space related events of the past (won’t go into any more detail than that).
If you are a fan of novels that include romance, science and space, and drama you should definitely pick this up.
You have wings. Believe in them and yourself, and you will fly.
