A Review of….Frostheart

img_20200327_094338Title: Frostheart

Author: Jamie Littler

Publisher: Puffin Books

COWWT: 25/25 (5/5)

Characters: 5

Oh I loved the characters in this novel. They were all so vibrant and alive – I particularly adored Ash and Tobu’s character’s. Ash is so determined to be himself and yet still  somewhat afraid to be himself, and Tobu is so protective of Ash, and even though he is very gruff and quite hard on him you can tell he cares about the boy.

Ooh! Factor: 5

This novel definitely has a lot of ooh factor, and had me experiencing one emotion after the other – and sometimes two or three at once!

Writing Style: 5

I immensely enjoyed the author’s writing style. It was so descriptive without actually saying too much, and it flowed really well ; I never had to go back to a page because I’d not understood the previous one.

World Building: 5

Oh my gosh, the world building! It was sooo good! As I said above, the details of the world the characters live in are so descriptive and yet not done with several words to do it. The addition of illustrations, done by the author himself, throughout the novel really helped build a picture of what the characters’ world looks like.

If you’ve read this book, what are your own thoughts?

You have wings. Believe in them and yourself, and you will fly.

Kath xoxo
