Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved Yanka. Her character and personality just make her so lovable – I loved many of the other characters too.

Oh there was so much in this book that made me gasp in awe, or grumble with annoyance – laugh, and even cry.

I really liked Anderson’s writing; it was easy to read and follow, and to understand, and I loved the fact that were other fairy-tales woven into the story itself.
World Building: 5
The world that Anderson has created is mesmerising, the detailed but not long descriptions creating vibrant and vivid images in my mind – I loved it!
Tone: 5
As I read this fantasy, I felt like there was a constant theme of determination, loneliness and love, as well as sadness – but also wonder.
