Read: 20th – 29th August

My Rating: * * * * *

Had been meaning to read this for a long time and putting it down for the NEWTS exams back in August was the perfect motivation to finally pick it up.

*Admired by her people for her elegance and kindness, and in spite of the scars marring her face Princess Winter’s beauty greatly rivals that of her stepmother Queen Levana.

Winter loathes her stepmother, and knows she wouldn’t be too thrilled if she learned about Winter’s feelings for the handsome palace guard Jacin, who also happens to be her childhood friend. Winter is stronger than Levana thinks she is, and unbeknown to her, Winter has been undermining her wishes for years. With the help of Cinder the cyborg mechanic and her friends, Winter might be able to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for longer than it should have.

Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter bring about Levana’s downfall, and find their happily ever afters?*

I was enthralled by Winter from the very first page, and it pained me to put it down when I had to because of having to go to work or eat dinner etc, because I was loving it so much. I know Jacin has his faults, from reading this, but he has become one of my favourite characters from the series, because of his love for Winter and desire to protect her, and…just a whole range of reasons!

I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book, and loved it so much that I’m definitely going to read  Stars Above , in fact I’m rather excited to learn about the stories behind the four main stories.

Stay true to yourself, and never let anyone or anything deter you from the course you wish to take.
