I’m Going to University!

I may have mentioned this, or something in relation to uni (i.e. being busy because I was preparing for it), in a few posts but I actually wanted to do a post on it and have been thinking about writing one for a few weeks ago, and now…here it is!

When I finished my GCSEs, I did not think I would end up going to university five years later, I mean….there are various reasons I wasn’t ready, including not being able to cope with the pressures of assignment deadlines. Then, about…three months ago, my dad had a chat with me during which he said he and Mum had noticed I’d been in a bit of a rut the last few months, and that Mum specifically was suggesting that I go to one of the open events at our local university and try applying, perhaps to English because of my wanting to become a writer and….it was then that I realised that I’d been wanting to do that for a while because of the reason my mum mentioned, but it’s more than that: I wanted to enhance my skills, learn more about the aspects of writing etc. – plus there’s a lot of support available to people like myself which was a huge bonus for me.

So long story short, I’m going to be studying BA (Hons) English at University of Suffolk starting next week, and I am so excited!

I am aiming to schedule posts to go up each week on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Saturday (getting back into those shout-out posts after a bit of a gap), and maybe some odd days in between, starting next week – although the going may be slow at first, so please bare with me :).

Stay true to yourself, and never let anyone or anything deter you from the course you wish to take.

Kath xoxo
