Oh my gosh, I honestly can not put into words how much I loved this!
I did take a little while to read this, but in truth I was trying to savour every bit of it, because I didn’t want it to end. It was such a page turner for me, I found it hard to put it down – but at the same time when I finished a chapter I tried hard not to start reading the next one (which was really hard to do, trust me), because I didn’t want to finish the book too quickly and miss anything exciting or important in the story.
I’m not sure if I said so in my review of AN EMBER IN THE ASHES , but I love Elias/Ilyas’ character, because he was so different to those he has trained and grown up with at Blackcliff , the other “Masks: he doesn’t like hurting or killing people, doesn’t want to, and I think he’s so compassionate too.
Something else I really loved was Elias and Laia’s relationship and how it grew as the novel went on – but also understood Elias’ actions at times (if you’ve read the book, you might know what I’m talking about) given that he doesn’t want to hurt her.
There you go, that’s my review of A TORCH AGAINST THE NIGHT , if you’ve read it too, what are your thoughts? Comment down below what you thought – but as always please be polite with your words and warn if there are spoilers.
Stay true to yourself, and don’t ever let anyone deter you from the course you wish to take.
Kath xoxo
