Two reviews in this one (aren’t you guys lucky?), which I thought was fitting because I read them both in one day.
First up, NIMONA!
I picked this up – that is to say, I ordered it off Amazon- after watching Jadeyraereads do a “Book Babble” on it over on her YouTube channel – go check her out; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9kvyautMuW7gfh_G_WKRKw , she usually uploads on Wednesdays and Sundays, and if you like any videos you watch don’t be afraid to leave a comment because she’ll more often than not reply to you, and is a lovely person if you ever meet her face-to-face.
Oh. My. Gosh. I was hooked from the first glossy, beautifully illustrated page. I loved the story, and I loved the characters- apart from Ambrosius (Sir Goldenloin) and the Director of Law Enforcement and Heroics- especially the star, Nimona.
This has become my favourite graphic novel to date!
Now, onto Unfiltered!
Lily Collins has been one of my favourite female actors, ever since I first saw her in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and is one of the strong successful women that I look up to despite being less than ten years older than myself.
From page one I was immersed in her words, and couldn’t put it down; it was like I was sitting in front of her, listening to her tell me about her life. I learned a lot about her as a person, away from the actor I’ve come to love; the hardships and struggles that she has faced and recovered – and is still recovering from-, the love she has for her mother and the relationship they have , and the adventures they’ve been on together, and various other things that kept me turning each page until I reached the end, and having read it, I feel like I’ve made a new friend.
Stay True To Yourself.
See you next time!
